Derma Bright Clinic & Holistica Wellness / Estrellita Martin Gonzalez

Estrellita Martin Gonzalez – Derma Bright Clinic & Holistica Wellness

Estrellita Gonzalez started Vancouver’s Derma Bright Clinic in 2012 after a career in corporate human resources and marketing. Derma Bright Clinic’s philosophy is to provide beauty, skin and health services using a holistic approach with a focus on anti-aging and acne. This philosophy includes using clean products i.e. free of chemicals, preservatives, etc. Derma Bright Clinic has won awards for its commitment to these principles. It’s growing client base includes members of the latino community; one of her experienced aestheticians hails from Brazil.

The company’s direction came from Estrellita’s own interest in health and wellbeing. She started this journey after consulting and working with a Mexican-trained physician and homeopath. In time Estrellita created her alter ego “The Queen of Living Clean” and through her shares information on how to mitigate the toxic load on our bodies. Estrellita has also written two books.

Estrellita has a varied educational background including two Diplomas (Marketing and Hotel management) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Human Resources Management. Prior to starting Derma Bright Clinic, Estrellita worked for 15+ years in senior management positions in HR and Marketing in Vancouver and Asia. She has been a part of 7 startups ranging in industries from telecommunications and television to recruitment and hotels. Her skills in leadership, organizational design and development, and sales and marketing have provided a fine starting point into entrepreneurship.

When Estrellita had her son almost 15 years ago she decided to start her own business. She was a consultant first and then in 2012 launched Derma Bright Clinic, starting in one small room of a doctor’s office. Later she morphed into Holistica Wellness, now a 6-room wellness centre. Her wellness centre works with many accomplished wellness professionals and offers a lovely healing space for clients and patients. Her clinic has garnered several industry recognitions including Best Holistic Clinic, Best Independent Clinic and Corporate Travel Wellbeing Award.

Estrellita believes in lifelong learning and is always learning a new skill, usually related in some way to her business. Over the last few years she has developed her business skills to expand into writing (she has authored two books), speaking, digital marketing (she actively uses social media including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and sales training. With these skills she has expanded to include new revenues sources for her business including books, workshops as the Queen of Living Clean and launched an online store which specializes in clean skincare products, supplements and coaching. She is working on a private label skincare line which she intends to translate into Spanish and sell into Latin America. She is also a representative for BEMER, Nikken and Melaleuca, all companies whose clean products she uses and loves sharing with people. She intends to delve further into the online world with courses, podcasting, Amazon sales and affiliate marketing.

In 2017 Estrellita decided to broaden her experience by gaining Board experience. She ran with the Green Party of Vancouver in the by-election and placed number 3 of 17 candidates to clinch one of the nine Board seats. She is currently on the election trail again running as a School Trustee for a 4 year term in the upcoming election on October 20, 2018. This experience will allow for hopefully more Board work in the future. Her affiliation with the Green party in not by accident. The philosophy and principles of the Greens align very closely to her own principles on the environment, sustainability, democracy, non-violence and diversity.

In her spare time Estrellita enjoys travel and family time with her teen son. She has lived on three continents and traveled to over 40 countries. Her parents are from Europe (her father is from Spain) and she holds a Spanish passport in addition to being Canadian. She was born in New Westminster and has in Vancouver since 1992. She passionate about health, wellness, and leaving a legacy in this world and for her son.

Thank you for the nomination, it means a lot to me!
